About the School
The Air Force Bal Bharati School is one of the three schools in Delhi that are run by the Air Force. The school was founded in 1955 with the primary aim of providing education to the children of Air Force Personnel. Applications for admission are categorized into Air Force and Non Air Force(NAF) with a fixed number of seats available for children belonging to the NAF category. The school is ISO 9001:2000 certified.

Facilities
School facilities include a well-equipped multi-function hall, a mini-auditorium, separate libraries and computer labs for junior and senior schools and a canteen. Most senior school classes are equipped with computers, projectors, LCD screens and educational software. Similar facilities are available for the junior school in a separate lab. There is a separate Audio-Visual Center with screening facilities. The school sick bay has a resident doctor and nurse. The school has a hostel for girls with 40 seats. Bus facilities are available.

On the sports front the school has a multi-purpose sports hall; basketball and tennis courts; football fields and cricket nets/ pitches.

Age Criteria in 2017-2018
The admissions made in 2017-2018 were to the Upper KG(UKG) i.e. Pre-Primary Class. The minimum age was four years as on 31st March 2017.

Admission Criteria
The school uses a point-based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Neighborhood 25 points.

Students residing within 5 km get 25 points, those residing between 5 and 10 km get 20 points and those residing between 10 and 15 km get 15 points.
Sibling 15 points.

Applicants are given 15 points if a real brother or sister is already studying in the school.
Alumni 10 points.

The candidate is given 5 points if one parent is an alumnus of the school and 10 points if both parents are alumni of the school.
Single Parent 10 points.

Wards of widow/ widower/ divorced/ unmarried parents are given 10 points.
Girl Child 10 points.

Female candidates are awarded 10 points.
School Specific parameters 20 points.

These points are awarded to wards of ex or deceased servicemen/ MES personnel etc. depending on category.
Serving PSU Employees 10 points.

Wards of serving PSU employees get 10 points.
Total 100 points.


Documents Required
The school requires that successful applicants produce the following documents.

Address Proof Proof of property ownership, MTNL landline bill, Voter Card, Water/ Electricity Bill, Aadhar card.
Date of Birth and Girl Child Proof Birth Certificate.
Sibling Proof School identity card and fee receipt.
Alumni Proof Mark sheet from CBSE etc. with name of school.
Single Parent Divorce papers from court/ Death certificate of parent/ Adoption deed.
School Specific parameters Discharge papers, appointment letters, pay slip etc. depending on the parameter.


Cutoffs in 2017-2018
The school published a first list with 54 names. The distribution of scores in this list was as follows- 2 candidates scored 65 points, 1 candidate scored 60 points, 2 candidates scored 55 points, 17 candidates scored 50 points and 32 candidates scored 45 points. The remaining seats were filled by a draw of lots amongst candidates with 40 and 35 points.

Class XII Results
The top scoring students in each category in 2016- 2017 were as follows- Commerce- 95%; Humanities- 93.4%; Biology Group- 94.4%; Science + Economics- 96%; Biotechnology- 96%. 39 students of the 249 who appeared scored more than 90%.
