About the School
The Convent of Jesus and Mary was founded in 1919 and is one of the older schools of Delhi. The school was initially co- educational in nature and functioned out of a rented cottage on Alipore Road. It moved to Maria Bhavan on the grounds of the Sacred Heart Cathedral in 1923. The foundation stone of the current school building was laid in 1926.

The school aims to impart all around education to the young with value education being an integral part of the curriculum. One of the primary aims of the teaching faculty is to make God known and loved.

Facilities
The Convent of Jesus and Mary is located on Bangla Sahib road in the heart of Delhi. The school is well equipped and the facilities include three computer labs; laboratories for physics, chemistry and biology; basketball courts and gymnasium; art, craft and music rooms and multiple general-purpose halls.

Age Criteria in 2023-2024
The admissions made in 2023-2024 were to the Kindergarten (KG) i.e. Pre- Primary Class. Girls born between 01/04/2018 and 31/03/2019 were eligible for admission in 2023 .

Admission Criteria
The school uses a point-based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Neighborhood 25 points.

Students living within 3 km of the school get 25 points while those living within 3 to 5 km get 20 points.
Sibling 15 points.

Applicants are given 15 points if a real sister is already studying in the school.
Alumni 10 points.

The candidate is given 10 points if the mother is an alumnus of the school.
Staff Ward 10 points.

Wards of staff are given 10 points
Total 60 points.


Documents Required
The school requires that successful applicants produce the following documents.
  • An attested copy of the Municipal Birth Certificate of child
  • For Christians- A letter from Parish priest/ pastor attesting their membership of the parish and their Baptism Certificate
  • For proof of residence- A photocopy of one of the following- Electoral I Card/ Passport/ MTNL Landline Bill/ Aadhar Card
  • For wards of alumni- School leaving certificate/ Class X and XII Board Certificates of mother

Class XII Results
The school topper in 2022- 2023 scored 98.6%.
