About the School
The Delhi Public School Dwarka was founded in 1996 by the Delhi Public School Society (DPS Society). The DPS Society is a non-profit, non-proprietary educational body that runs over one hundred schools in India and abroad. The DPS Society is very well known and its schools have produced many distinguished alumni.

DPS Dwarka is a co- educational school that believes in the philosophy of helping each student discover his or her true potential.

DPS Dwarka is located on a 9.64 acre plot and features a built up area of about 2096 square meters along with playgrounds measuring 25,000 square meters. The school is well equipped with two state of the art computer centers; science laboratories; two libraries; a centrally air conditioned auditorium and music, dance & art rooms. The school has extensive playgrounds and a swimming pool. Hostel facilities are available for boys.

Age Criteria and Seats in 2017-2018
The school admitted students to the Pre- School class in 2017- 2018. Children aged 3 years or more as on 31/03/2017 were eligible for admission to the Pre- School class. The total number of seats available was 200. The break- up of these seats was- General Category- 100, EWS- 50, Management quota- 40, Staff quota- 10.

Admission Criteria
The school uses a point-based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Neighborhood 40 points.

Students residing within 1 km of the school get 40 points, those residing between 1 and 3 km away get 30 points, those residing between 3 and 6 km away get 20 points while those residing more than 6 km away get 10 points.
Sibling 30 points.

Applicants are given 30 points if a real brother or sister is already studying in the school.
Alumni 20 points.

The candidate is given 10 points if either parent is an alumnus of the school and 20 points if both parents are alumni of the school.
Single Parent 5 points.

Wards of widows/ widowers/ divorced parents are given 5 points.
Girl Child/ First Born 05 points.

Female/ first born candidates are given 5 points.
Total 100 points.

Documents Required
The school requires that successful applicants produce the following documents.
  • Municipal Birth Certificate of child
  • Proof of Residence(any two of the following)- Lease deed on stamp paper/ electricity Bill/ MTNL bill/ electoral card/ driving license/ ration card/ domicile certificate/ water bill/ passport/ Aadhar card.
  • Alumni proof- copy of the AISSCE Board Pass certificate (Class XII) of parents
  • Sibling proof- school identity card/ fee bill of sibling studying in DPS Dwarka
  • Medical fitness certificate of child
  • Girl Child/ First Born- self-declaration of parents
  • Single parent- death certificate/ divorce decree etc

Cutoffs in 2017-2018
The school published the scores of all 3328 registered applicants. 57 applicants with scores of 50 points and above were directly selected. The remaining 43 seats were filled by a draw of lots amongst the 352 applicants who had scored 45 points.

Class XII Results
The top scoring students in each category in 2016- 2017 were as follows- Science - 97%; Commerce- 96.6% and Humanities- 96.4%. 116 of the 326 students who appeared scored more than 90%.
