The Delhi Public School Dwarka was founded in 1996 by the Delhi Public School Society (DPS Society). The DPS Society is a non-profit, non-proprietary educational body that runs over one hundred schools in India and abroad. The DPS Society is very well known and its schools have produced many distinguished alumni.

DPS Dwarka is a co- educational school that believes in the philosophy of helping each student discover his or her true potential.

DPS Dwarka is located on a 9.64 acre plot and features a built up area of about 2096 square meters along with playgrounds measuring 25,000 square meters. The school is well equipped with two state of the art computer centers; science laboratories; two libraries; a centrally air conditioned auditorium and music, dance & art rooms. The school has extensive playgrounds and a swimming pool. Hostel facilities are available for boys.

The school admitted students to both the Pre- School and Pre-Primary class in 2023- 2024. Children aged 3 years or more as on 31/03/2023 were eligible for admission to the Pre- School class. Children aged 4 years or more as on 31/03/2023 were eligible for admission to the Pre- Primary class. The total number of seats available for Pre- School was 240. The break- up of these seats was- General Category- 120, EWS- 60, Management quota- 48, Staff quota- 12. The total number of seats available for Pre- Primary was 40. The breakup was- General Category- 20, EWS- 10, Management quota- 8, Staff quota- 2

The school uses a point-based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Neighborhood	40 points. Candidates residing within 3 km of the school get 40 points, those residing between 3 and 6 km away get 35 points while those residing more than 6 km away get 30 points.
Sibling	35 points. Applicants are given 35 points if a real brother or sister is already studying in the school.
Alumni	25 points. The candidate is given 10 points if either parent is an alumnus of a DPS Society school and 20 points if both parents are alumni of DPS Society schools. An additional 5 points are awarded to DPS Dwarka alumni.
Total	100 points.

The school requires that successful applicants produce the following documents.

Municipal Birth Certificate of child
Proof of Residence- Electricity Bill/ MTNL bill/ electoral card/ ration card/ domicile certificate/ water bill/ passport/ Aadhar card.
Alumni proof- copy of the AISSCE Board Pass certificate (Class XII) of parents
Sibling proof- school identity card/ fee bill of sibling studying in DPS Dwarka
Medical fitness certificate of child

The cutoff for admission in 2023-2024 was 40 points.

The top scoring students in each category in 2022- 2023 were as follows- Science - 96.6%; Humanities- 97%; Commerce- 98.2%.
