About the School
The Mater Dei School for girls was established in 1956 by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary. The Franciscan Missionaries of Mary is an international congregation of women that was founded by Helen De Chappotin (later to become Mary of the Passion) in 1877. It was the first Missionary congregation to be founded by a woman. The congregation is active in more than 76 countries worldwide.

The school was established with the primary objective of providing education in a Christian atmosphere to all children. It attempts to inculcate a philosophy of life based on faith in God and respect for the individual.

Facilities
Mater Dei school is located on a 1.67 acre campus and has a built up area of about 8065 square meteres. The school is environmentally conscious and has its own paper recycling and water harvesting plants.

Mater Dei school is equipped with state of the art laboratories for physics/ chemistry/ mathematics/ biology and English language. The school has separate computer laboratories for junior and senior schools. There are well laid out rooms for art, craft, dance and music. The library is well equipped and has about 250 reference books per class.

On the sports front the school has facilities for a wide variety of sports, both during and after school hours.

Age Criteria in 2023-2024
The admissions made in 2023-2024 were to the K.G. i.e. Pre- Primary Class. The minimum age was four years as on 31st March 2023.

Admission Criteria
The school uses a points-based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Catholic Minority 40 points.

Catholic students are awarded 40 points.
Sibling/ Staff 20 points.

Applicants are given 20 points if a real sister is already studying in the school or if they are wards of staff.
Alumni 10 points.

Wards of alumni get 10 points.
Distance 20 points.

Candidates are awarded these points on the basis of distance of residence from school.
Total 90 points.


Documents Required
The school requires that successful applicants produce the following documents.
  • Birth Certificate of the child
  • Proof of residence- Aadhar Card or Voter ID or Passport or Electricity Bill or Telephone Bill
  • For Catholics and Christians- photocopy of baptism certificate and a letter from the parish priest
  • For Alumni- Photocopy of the school leaving certificate/ board certificate of class X and XII
  • For Siblings- Photocopy of ID card and report card of sibling

Cutoffs in 2023-2024
The cutoff for admission in 2023-2024 was at 10 points.

Class XII Results
The stream wise toppers in 2022-2023 were as follows- Commerce- 96.6%; Science- 96.8% and Humanities- 94%.
