About the School
The Tagore Education Society was formed in 1964 by Dr. Mrs. Hari Sen and Mr. Jitender Sen to further the cause of value based education. The Society started out by establishing a small school in Lajpat Nagar in 1964. The Society grew and set up another school in Vasant Vihar in 1972. The second school was initially established in a small house opposite the current school building. Land was acquired for the current school in 1973 and the current school was built. The school has continuously expanded since then- both in terms of constructing new buildings and in adding state of the art facilities to the buildings. In addition the society has added a third school, located in East of Kailash, to the family.

Facilities
Tagore International provides a wide range of facilities to its students. The school has well equipped laboratories for teaching physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, EVS and the Social Sciences. The three computer labs for students are equipped with 45 computers each, along with printers, scanners and copiers. There are two computer labs for teachers that are used for content development. Internet connectivity is provided via two lines (one 8 Mbps and one 4 Mbps) leased from Airtel and two 4 Mbps MTNL broadband connections. The school has a dedicated Robotics Lab based on South Korean robotic kits. The use of multi- media for education is facilitated by two dedicated multi- media rooms with LCD projectors, OHP's and an assortment of educational software. In addition all class room are now equipped with LCD projectors. The school also has a virtual classroom established through videoconferencing with Jinyuan High School in Shanghai, China.

Other facilities include activity rooms for art, craft, music, dance and clay modeling. There are separate libraries for the junior and senior schools. On the sports front the school has facilities for football, basketball, athletics, volleyball, cricket, yoga and Tae Kwon Do.

Age Criteria and Seats in 2023-2024
The admissions made in 2023-2024 were to the Nursery i.e. Pre- School Class. The total number of seats available was 135. These seats were allocated as follows- EWS- 34, Management quota- 27 and General Category- 74. Children born between 01/04/2019 and 31/03/2020 were eligible for admission.

Admission Criteria
The school uses a point-based system for admissions. The criteria and their weightages are as below

Areas where school transport is available 50 points.

Students residing in areas where school transport is available or within 4 km of the school get 50 points.
Status of child 30 points.

Siblings get 30 points, eldest children get 20 points, second born children get 10 points and third born children get 5 points.
Alumni 10 points.

The candidate is given 10 points if either parent is an alumnus of the school.
Staff Wards 10 points.

Wards of staff get 10 points.
Total 100 points.


Documents Required
The school requires that successful applicants produce the following original documents for verification-
  • Birth Certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation.
  • Proof of residential address (Ration Card/ Driving License/ Passport/ Voter I- Card/ Aadhar Card/ Electricity Bill/ Water Bill/ Phone Bill/ Lease Deed). Applicants should be able to prove that they have been residing at the address for at least one year.
  • For wards of alumni- appropriate proof.


Class XII Result
The top scoring students in each category in 2022- 2023 were as follows- Science- 96.4%; Commerce- 95.8%; Humanities- 97%. 40 of the 122 students who appeared scored more than 90%. The school average was 84.42%.
