About the School
The Vasant Valley school was established in 1990 and currently boasts of an enrollment of 1250 students. The school operates out of a well equipped campus spread over 8 acres in Vasant Kunj. Vasant Valley has a reputation for being an extremely progressive school. The school had adopted a semester system for academics. No ranks are given to students and there is a continuous emphasis to balance academics with overall development. A significant number of students of the school are now studying overseas.

The Vasant Valley School is housed in two buildings that face each other. One building houses the junior school while the other houses the senior school. The buildings are linked by a common assembly area that doubles as basketball court. Each building has its constituent classrooms, science labs, dance/ art/ music rooms and library arranged in hexagonal pattern around a central courtyard. The senior school has its own gym and there are extensive sports fields behind the school.

Age Criteria and Seats in 2017- 2018
Admissions in 2017- 2018 were made to the Foundation i.e. Pre- School class. The minimum age for eligibility was 3 years as on 31/03/2017. The total seats available were 90, out of which 22 seats were reserved for the EWS category, 18 for the Management quota and 50 for the General category.

Admission Criteria
The school uses a point- based system for admissions to Foundation class. The criteria and their weightages are shown below

Neighborhood 25 points.

Students residing within 8 km get 25 points while those residing between 8 km and 12 km get 15 points.
Sibling 20 points.

Applicants are given 20 points if a real brother or sister is already studying in the school.
Alumni 20 points.

The candidate is given 10 points if either parent is an alumnus of the school and 20 points if both parents are alumni of the school.
Staff Child 10 points.

Wards of staff get 10 points.
Proven track record of parents 25 points.

Points for the track record of parents are awarded by first specifying the area in which the track record has been achieved (from a predefined list) and then awarding 3 points for each achievement at the state level, 4 points for each achievement at the national level and 5 points for each achievement at the international level.
Total 100 points.

Documents Required
The school requires that successful applicants produce the following original documents for verification-
  • Birth Certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation.
  • Proof of residential address (Ration Card/ Water Bill/ Electricity Bill/ Telephone Bill/ Passport/ Voter I- Card/ UID Card).
  • For sibling cases- details of class and section of sibling.
  • For alumni- School leaving certificate.
  • Track record of parents- appropriate documents.

Cutoffs in 2017-2018
The school published the scores of all 3165 applicants. The admission list released by the school had the names of 50 candidates with scores ranging from 37 to 60 points. The cutoff was at 37 points with applicants with this score selected by a draw of lots.

Class XII Results
The school average of all the students who appeared in the Class XII examination in 2016- 2017 was 90.5%. 68% of those who appeared more than 90% in the aggregate.
